Residents have been flooding the Mount Gilead Estate golf course with their electric golf buggies, teeing off on the newly upgraded 9-hole course.
Last month the team at Mount Gilead Estate was thrilled to announce that upgrades to the golf course were complete. The improvements were part of an $8 million investment in improving the course and upgrading the resident’s clubhouse which was completed late last year.
Nestled in the heart of our 55-acre retirement community, this beautifully manicured 9-hole course provides the perfect opportunity for residents to stay active and socialise with friends, family, and resident golfers. The golf course upgrade was part of the ongoing facilities works to accommodate for the ever-expanding number of residents moving to the village. The golf course upgrade included some flattening of deep gullies, and expanding and improving the general look and usability of the course.
Designed for golfers of all skill levels, the course now features a variety of challenging holes and scenic vistas that will test your abilities and keep the competition high between your neighbours. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, this picturesque golf course is a dream to have in your retirement village.
Golf Courses in retirement villages
In recent years, there has been a surge in the popularity of retirement village golf courses, and it’s easy to see why. Golf is more than just a sport, it’s a way of life that brings people together and is a source of joy and relaxation.
Unfortunately, new retirement living properties with facilities like this are becoming rare. With land available for development becoming scarce, retirement village developers are unable to build new housing for retirees, let alone ones with the space for a golf course.
Thankfully, Mount Gilead Estate has been able to capitalise on this growing trend and popularity in golfing in retirement with its very own golf course where golf enthusiasts can enjoy their favourite sport right at their doorstep during retirement. It’s just one of the many great facilities on offer at the village.
Clubhouse facelift
In addition to the course upgrades, the clubhouse has undergone a big transformation. A third level has been added that looks out onto the golf course through its floor-to-ceiling windows. The extension also includes the addition of a new library, manicured gardens, and a new lawn bowls green.
With a modern design and comfortable seating, the new clubhouse space is the perfect place to relax and unwind after a round of golf or where a quieter setting than is afforded in the rest of the clubhouse is needed.
The estate’s commitment to providing the best possible facilities, including the best golfing experience for residents has never been stronger, and these upgrades are a testament to that. We have no doubt they will enhance the golfing experience and provide even more opportunities for residents to stay active, socialize, and enjoy their retirement.
