Mount Gilead Estate Retirement Village celebrated a significant milestone last week with the official opening of the residents’ clubhouse. Campbelltown Mayor George Griess had the honour of cutting the ceremonial red ribbon to mark the clubhouse’s grand opening, along with unveiling the plaque that commemorates the great step forward this has been for our retirement community. The event was attended by residents, guests, and Mount Gilead Estate management and marks the beginning of a new era in luxury, resort-style living made possible through management’s continued commitment to building a thriving community that we can all be proud to be a part of.
The clubhouse underwent an impressive $8 million renovation, including the addition of two new recently completed levels. Residents have been enjoying using the new clubhouse together with its range of features, with the clubhouse being the central community hub of the thriving retirement village. The latest level includes stunning architecture with floor-to-ceiling windows that offer panoramic views of the golf course, new lawn bowls green and manicured gardens. It provides residents with a comfortable and quiet meeting space and is also the location of the new village library. The space is tastefully decorated with stylish plush sofas and artworks created by talented local artists that reside here at Mount Gilead Estate.
The now three-story clubhouse has long been the most popular meeting place of Mount Gilead Estate’s resident retirement community. More than just a place for social gatherings, it is a bustling venue for a multitude of daily activities and events that cater to residents’ diverse interests. These include weekly line dancing clubs and knitting circles, arts and crafts groups, bingo days, trivia nights, and sporting events such as bocce, card games, snooker, and darts. The clubhouse is also where the village café, bar, indoor swimming pool and gym can be found. Read more about community events here.
The opening ceremony began with an Acknowledgment of Country, giving respect to the traditional custodians of the land on which Mount Gilead Estate sits, the Dharawl people. Campbelltown Mayor George Griess attended the event to announce the clubhouse’s official opening, highlighting the positive relationship that has been fostered between him, the management team, and the community of residents. Mayor Griess, known for his support for community initiatives, applauded the management team’s commitment to providing premium facilities for the residents as well as giving praise to the positive contributions this commitment has made for the greater Campbelltown community. With great enthusiasm and strong community pride, he cut the ceremonial red ribbon, officially inaugurating the clubhouse and symbolising the beginning of a new chapter for Mount Gilead Estate and its residents.
The event was led by the village’s management team, with General Manager Jen Smith at the helm. In her address, Jen expressed her gratitude for the tremendous effort put into the clubhouse’s renovation. Mount Gilead Estate’s Chief Executive, Paul Singer, was invited to the stage to speak where he took the opportunity to convey his appreciation for the residents’ support and the collaborative spirit that made the project a success.
More than 200 residents attended the event, making it a standout event of the year. Following the official proceedings, residents and guests gathered to enjoy a celebratory lunch provided by the management team in the new level. Everyone had a remarkable day at the clubhouse, filled with excitement for the exciting future of Mount Gilead Estate.
